Based on my career as a cultural heritage commentator for more than 10 years, I am working to spread awareness that hanbok is not just a piece of clothing, but a cultural asset, by designing Korean cultural heritage in hanbok. In addition, cultural heritage design produces original and unique products by designing not only everyday hanbok, but also scarves, handkerchiefs, and bags.

The production process and meaning of Hanbok that embraces Uigwe
The Uigwe of the Joseon Dynasty is recognized for its absolute value as the spiritual foundation of the Joseon Dynasty, a cultural asset with 500 years of history, and a World Record Cultural Heritage. Uigwe, which was taken away from France during the Byeonginyangyo period in the late Joseon Dynasty and returned to Korea after 142 years, is a material with excellent coloration and accuracy in painting, and the painting contains a lot of meaning. Aran Story used the wedding encyclopedia of Queen Jeongsun of King Yeongjo, and tried to bring out the feel of the banchado itself by arranging the pictures at the bottom of the skirt and inserting them into the upper body, like the design of the traditional skirt of traditional Hanbok. And to represent the faded color of the paper containing the picture, we designed an off-white color similar to the actual paper. Jogakbo Split Skirt
Jogakbo refers to a bojagi made by connecting leftover colored fabrics, and in the past, it was mainly used for table covers, window blinds, wall decorations, blankets, and pillowcases. Jogakbo, which was a household item for the common people, it can be said to be a shipbuilding version upcycled product. Aran Story Hanbok uses a fabric with the motif of this Jogakbo to create a wrap skirt-shaped waist skirt produced by grafting the living culture of the past to the modern waist skirt.

Baekje's glory daily Hanbok is a waist skirt designed with the representative artifacts of Baekje from The Wearing Cultural Properties" series. A total of three relics are drawn on the fabric, and they are combined with the representative cultural assets of Hanseong (Seoul city), Sabi(Gongju city), and Buyeo(Buyeo city), which were the capitals of the Baekje period, with Coin-Patterned Water Curtains, Gilt-Bronze Incense Burners, and Crown Ornaments to the tomb of King Muryeong. Baekje, which occupied about 700 years of Korean history, had the spirit of being frugal but not shabby, splendid but not extravagant(儉而不陋 華而不侈)). This spirit can be said to be the spirit of the current Korean culture. The Beauty of the Republic of Korea is always frugal and has a subtle Beauty, and has a splendid but not over-the-top elegance. By designing this spirit into textiles, we wanted to express the Beauty(美) of Hanbok and cultural assets together.
